Soil in schools

It has never been more important to teach children about the environment – how it affects their lives and how they can make a difference through their own actions. Soil is a fun and fascinating chapter of the environmental story, combining physics, chemistry and biology as well as critical subjects like climate change, biodiversity and the all-important question of where our food comes from. It’s also a great opportunity to inspire children to go outside, get active and get their hands dirty!

There is a wealth of teaching resources available to help parents and teachers inspire children of all ages about the science and wonders of soils. Here is a collection of the most engaging and inspirational.

"In the spring, at the end of the day, you should smell like dirt."
